Class D (1961-1975)

D9 1971 - Lamborghini Miura P400S

The Miura, was the very first "supercar" and gave Lamborghini a worldwide fame, following it's debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966. Its elegant and eccentric body of Carozzeria Bertone was designed by Marcello Gandini for whom Miura was the first step toward his successful career. In 1968, it evolves into Miura P400S with stronger 370ps engine and several improvements. The name Miura cames from famous fighting bull trainer in Spain. "S" of 400S stands for Spinto which means "extreme" in Italian.
